In 1982 Pete used his one free elective to take a SCUBA Diving class at the University of Illinois. He has be diving ever since, and his exploration of the underwater world continues to shape his perspective on a great many things. Pete is a SCUBA Instructor (PADI - Master SCUBA Diver Trainer #419460) and introduced a number of students to diving at his previous academic position at the Georgia Institute of Technology. SCUBA Diving has been absent from the University of Alabama since 2018, and there is no longer even a dive shop in the Tuscaloosa area. Pete, and a number of faculty are interested in bringing back student interest in SCUBA diving whether it takes the form of a university course, and student club, or a group of like-minded individuals interested in exploring the underwater world together. If you are similarly interested, please contact Pete at 205-348-1645 or [email protected].
